Wordpress / PHP Events Page

Introduction

This document provides the software specification for a Wordpress / PHP based project to implement an events page.

The website will use Wordpress version 6 or higher. The goal is to use the Gutermberg editor. The Events Calendar plugin will provide the event management capability, but additional components will need to be added.

Create a sandbox "The Events Calender" environment using WPSandbox. The site will be available for 2 days.

    • When - Date or date range

    • Where - Address and map

    • Contact person

    • Cost summary

  • Categories and seeding

  • Routes and distances

  • Start groups and times

  • Costs

  • Online entry link/button

  • Parking

  • Terms and conditions

    • Cancellation policy

    • Privacy statement

Summary

The summary area must provide a quick overview of the event, including the map to the location. It is recommended that the map be rendered as an image, so that the page loads faster, rather than embedding Google Maps. Clicking on the map might then go to Google Maps.
